This form is the front door of the office. A note that carries four facts comes back with a figure and a written offer; a note without them comes back with a question, and that costs a day.
Nothing is held here until the office has written back and you have said yes to what it wrote. No part of a stay is ever paid for through these pages.
Four facts turn a note into a figure
Four things make an answer useful: how many nights are free, roughly which month, how many people are coming, and the one thing about the trip that cannot move. With those four in hand the office can measure the road, check what is open in that month and write back with a figure per person.
A note without them is not wasted, it is only slower. The office answers it with a question, the question comes back, and two days have gone into what one line would have settled.
Anything else is optional. A note can name a stay from the list, or name nothing at all and describe the kind of week that is wanted instead. Both are read the same way.
Nights lead because the whole list is sorted by them
Every entry here prints hours of road divided by nights, so the number of nights changes what a place is, not only how long it lasts. The same road over two nights and over a week sit at opposite ends of the list.
So the office asks for nights before it asks for a place. If the number is small, the short roads come up first and the long ones are named as what they are, a drive that takes half the trip with it.
If the number is generous, the far end of the list opens up, because a long road spread over many nights stops being the main event of the week.
The form takes a note at any hour; the reading is not instant
The form on this page accepts a request 24/7, and nothing about it depends on the clock. A note written at two in the morning is stored the moment the button is pressed.
The reading is a different matter. One mailbox holds these notes and the office works through them in turn, which is why the reply time printed under the form is measured in days and not in minutes.
A sent note reserves nothing. The supplier at the far end has to answer first, and the office puts the whole figure in writing before anything is reserved.
Questions this office cannot take, however they are written
Nothing in the answer will move a person from one place to another. This office reserves what waits at the end of a road driven in a private car, and it arranges no seats, no sailings and no rail of any kind.
Cover for a trip, along with visas and passports, sits outside this office as well: it does not sell any of the three, does not arrange them and will not advise on them. A note asking about them gets a straight refusal rather than a guess.
Money is the third. Nothing is charged here, and the office never handles it; whoever supplies a room or a guide sends the bill straight to the traveler.
